Port, Blue & Panforte

On New Year’s Eve, we will gather our family and friends for a dinner to celebrate the memories of 2019, and ring in the start of a new decade. To end our bountiful meal, we will be pairing Quinta Seara D’Ordens Ruby Port and Bayley Hazen Blue, served with Panforte Margherita, a traditional Italian fig and walnut cake. This is a classic pairing, dating back to Great Britain’s history of being involved in the wine trade in Portugal. The salty, nutty nuances of blue cheese pair beautifully with the chewy spiced Panforte and sweet fortified Port. Cheers to a Happy New Year and best wishes to you and yours in 2020!
