Join us for a special wine tasting and presentation from Jared Brandt, owner and winemaker of Donkey and Goat. Husband and wife team, Jared and Tracey Brandt are making some of the best natural juice in the states, right out of Berkeley, California. After leaving their tech jobs to pursue traditional winemaking in the Rhône Valley, Jared and Tracey began Donkey & Goat Winery in 2004.
We first fell in love with Donkey & Goat a few years ago after having a bottle of their sparkling Chardonnay 'Lily's Cuvée' at Oleana in Cambridge, MA. What distinguishes Jared and Tracey's natural wine is the simple elegance in the bottle. Donkey & Goat is unique and unusual wine, but pleases the most novice to the most advanced palates. We love Jared and Tracey's wines because they speak to all people, and they speak purely and from the earth.
Donkey & Goat wines are made 'naturally,' which is a term that includes both vineyard and cellar practices throughout farmed vineyards in the Sierra Nevada, Mendocino and Napa. Donkey & Goat wines are bottled without stabilizers, fining or filtration, and nothing is removed nor added except for minimal sulphur, falling under the guidelines of natural winemaking in Europe. While not required, Donkey & Goat includes their ingredient list on all of their labels: grapes and minimal sulphur.
This special evening includes a flight of five Donkey & Goat wines accompanied by a selection of cheese and charcuterie. Guests will receive a 10% discount on wines purchased at the tasting.
