Tipsy Pickles!

One of the best parts of working in food is discovering fantastic new products. Of course, an item has got to be super tasty for us to even consider carrying it. But when it’s tasty and well made and local - BOOM, we’ve hit the trifecta. These are the products we are always the most excited to share with you because they have everything going for them! And our latest triple threat? The Tipsy Pickle - a small, women-owned, adorably-named Vermont company whose bread n’ butter pickles have been winning awards! LFGGGG

Owner and pickle pro Angela Gerace packs each jar with cucumbers, spices, herbs, and brine. The brine is where the pickles get tipsy. Angela works with many of Vermont’s famous breweries and distilleries - adding a touch of beer here, a splash of rum there -  to compliment the other flavorings in her pickles. (All the alcohol is cooked off, so don’t worry, no getting drunk off these babies.) The result is a series of unique pickle flavors that are unlike anything else we’ve tasted! And because Angela cuts her cucumbers (or pre-pickles, as they should be known) into large chunks, they really hold their own as a crunchy, juicy, tart snack, not just as an ingredient. Check out our three newest flavors!

Pirate Dan’s Dill Booty
This is no ordinary dill pickle. Angela adds a splash of St. Johnsbury Distillery’s Pirate Dan’s Vermont Rum to the brine. This clean white rum highlights the herbal, sour flavors in the snappy pickles.

Hart Bread N Butter Pickles
The first sweet pickles we’ve ever carried! These pickles are sweet but also spicy, thanks to Burning Embers Vodka from Wild Hart Distillery, a vodka infused with warming spices. Add these to your next tuna sandwich!

Sip of Sunshine Pickles
Made with a dash of Sip of Sunshine from Lawson’s Finest Liquids. The citrusy, floral flavors in the beer are an excellent pairing with the herbs and mild chilis in the pickle brine. Chop these babies up and enjoy them atop a grilled sausage with mustard, alongside a can of Sip of Sunshine!

I’m pumped on these pickles, friends! Just writing about them is making me drool! I can’t wait for you to try them so you can drool, too!

For the love of new products and pickles,

Kiri
