The Wine Trust w/ Karen

Karen is swinging by to show some end-of-summer stunners. Come and stock up for Labor Day!

Château Henri Bonnaud 'Terre Promise' (2016) – Provence, France, $19
This Château is named after the winemaker, Stephanie Spitzglous's grandfather, Henri Bonnaud. Grapes are grown on chalky gravel soil giving this rosé its scrumptious, full-bodied and and smooth floral notes. This Syrah and Grenache rosé will please any Labor Day Weekend Party!

Domaine Agapé, ‘Expression’ Pinot Gris (2014) – Alsace, France, $20
Agapé is derived from the Greek word for “love,” and the name aptly describes the relationship winemaker Vincent Sipp has with his land. The domaine consists of around 9 hectares of vines, with a third of them in Grands Crus in Riquewihr, Ribeauvillé and Hunawihr. This Pinot Gris is texturally full-bodied and lush, with notes of tangerine and lemongrass and drinks dry with piercing acidity in the finish.

Domaine Agapé, ‘Expression’ Riesling (2013) – Alsace, France, $24
Another creation from Vincent Sipp. A powerful yet restrained Riesling, with aromas of yellow apples, aniseed, and fresh white flowers. Medium-bodied in texture with a punch of last acidity. A punk rocker of Riesling.

Orison Rosé (2016) – Alentejo, Portugal, $17
100% Moreto grape varietal from a little family farm surrounded by trees in the heart of Alentejo, Portugal. The Orison wine project, started in 2011 by Daniel and Filipe ‘Pipa’ Orrison, embodies two young winemakers' desire to bring the beauty and spirit of Portugal to the US! Their 2016 rosé is all charm full of fresh flowers and strawberry notes.

Violin Pinot Noir (2013) – Willamette Valley, Oregon $42
Winemaker Will Hamilton lives with precision and thoughtfulness. He named his winery Violin in homage to his son Olin and to celebrate his love of music. Hamilton is intrigued by the connections between wine and music-for instance both are sensory based pleasures and involve massive vocabularies to describe them! This Pinot is a result of Hamilton's first harvest and is a juicy, weighty delight with notes of forest floor and boysenberries.
