Riesling & Grüner Veltliner!

After attending a Terry Theise seminar on Riesling and Grüner Veltliner a few weeks back, we got reeeeally excited about showing off some new juice from the below amazing producers. Join us!

2016 Zum Martin Sepp, Grüner Veltliner – Vienna, Austria ($18)
On the edge of Vienna lies a cozy inn, restaurant and organic winery run by Michael and Freya Martin. Only recently has this region begun exporting their wines to the world, including this catchy Grüner Veltliner, with its Puck-like (think mischievous and wise sprite from A Midsummer's Night's Dream) acidity and fresh citrus.

2015 Arndorfer Vorgeschmack White – Kamptal, Austria ($22)
Vorgeschmack means ‘appetizer’ in German, and this is Martin and Anna Arndorfer’s ‘starter wine’ to the special terroir of Strass in Austria. It’s a lively dry wine with vibrant fresh fruit and floral notes. Enjoy with fried fish, salad, or even hard to pair foods like asparagus, artichokes, avocados, and tomatoes.
Let Grüner take over and do its thing.

2015 Müller-Catoir, Feinherb Riesling – Pfalz, Germany ($25)
This special Riesling is bottled personally for Terry Theise and is also in Saturday’s line-up! It has a glimmer of sweetness which balances notes of crushed stones and dynamo white peach. Müller-Catoir has been crafting wine for since 1774 (!) and under the current Captain, Philip David Catoir, has begun using organic practices.

2015 Schloss-Lieser, Thomas Haag, Trocken – Mosel, Germany ($22)
This Trocken is a rockin’ wine from Thomas Haag, one of Germany’s top producers, who creates scrumptious wines in Mosel in the village of Lieser, along with his brother Fritz. Think of Elvis when bumping to the playful beat of this bone-dry Riesling with guava and pineapple notes!
