Basque Cider Tasting

Ken from Ciders of Spain is featuring a rad, and I mean RAD, line up of natural ciders (sidra) from the region of Asturias and we're pairing Spanish and Basque cheeses with them too!

Sidra is an essential beverage and ingredient in Asturian gastronomy. It’s mainly used as a marinade or pickling brine for fowl, blue fish or even spicy Chorizo. Due to its crispness and astringency, Spanish sidra cleanses and cools one's palate when combined with spicy and smoked dishes. Furthermore, sidra is THE ULTIMATE cheese pairing experience. Think of the slight, refreshing spritz of Riestra's sparkling sidra paired with Payoyo (Cadiz, Spain), a blend of goat and sheep's milk. Try the classic pairing of Cabrales, the funky, assertive cow's milk blue, from Eastern Asturias and feel your taste buds rejoice. Check out this dude pouring cider in the traditional, Asturian way. Now THAT's talent!
