Italian tasting with Adonna Imports

We're always so excited to open the newest Adonna wines with our customers. The sparkling rosé from Franciacorta was a big hit at Winter Wine night, and we've got a new shipment of it it just waiting to be

The featured white of the evening is the 2014 Loretello, a Verdicchio named after the town its from in the Marche, outside of the capital of Jesi in eastern Italy. Pair with a sliced asparagus and pomegranate salad dressed with sherry vinaigrette.

Moving north to Piedmont, the Barbarossa from Daniele Ricci is a gorgeous Barbera that we've carried since day one, but this 2013 vintage is even better than the last.

If you've tasted with Adonna at the Cheese Shop, you've probably had a Cascina Roera so you also know they rarely disappoint. I love, love, loooove their San Martino Vino Rosso Barbera. It's raisiny, plump, and elegant with a satiny finish.

Moving to Lombardy, Di Rupi's Olé is Nebbiolo poetry in a bottle that smells like dirt, but doesn't taste like dirt. Pair with a gritty, mushroom bison burger slathered with pungent blue cheese like Bayley Hazen from Jasper Hill, VT.
