AP Imports with Greg

All Frenchies, all evening. Come chat with Greg as he pours wines from the Rhône, Burgundy, Alsace and Bordeaux. On se voit là-bas!

NV Domaine Gracieux Chevalier, Crémant de Bourgogne - Burgundy, France ($24)
Domaine Chevalier is located in the southern half of the Chablis region covering 56 hectares of vineyards. Planted with low-trained vines in Kimmeridgian and Portlandian soils, this is a superb sparkling wine made from the holy trinity of Burgundy grapes: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Aligoté.

2014 Domaine du Château de Pierreclos, Mâcon-Pierreclos - Burgundy, France ($24)
Winegrowers Anne-Françoise and Jean-Marie Pidault oversee their 8 hectares at Château de Pierreclos, which is emblematic of Southern Burgundy, located between the Solutré rock and Cluny abbey. This unique and robust Chardonnay is certified organic and matured on its lees for 9 months.

2012 Domaine André Kientzler Gewürztraminer - Alsace, France ($25)
The Kientzler domaine is a small, 5th generation family-run estate with just 13.8 hectares, 4.4 of which are classified Grand Cru vines. The soils are a mix of limestone, marl and sandstone. Fermentation occurs in either traditional Alsatian “foudre” or stainless steel tanks prior to bottling. This Gewürz is a bombshell. It was love at first sip.

2013 Jeanne Gaillard “Terres de Mandrin” Syrah VDP - Rhône Valley ($16)
Jeanne Gaillard describes her own winemaking style as: "Pretty soft and fruity; I seek the purest expression of each varietal and each appellation in which I work.” 'Terres de Mandrin' is a reference to the land of Louis Mandrin, the French Robin Hood, whom Gaillard sang ballads about in her youth, along with other children growing up in the Dauphiné province.

2009 Château Bouscaut, Pessac-Léognan Rouge, Grand Cru Bordeaux - Bordeaux ($50)
Chateau Bouscaut has existed since the 17th century in the commune of Cadaujac, located in Graves. The 47-hectare property has an average vine age of 40 years old, and some even reach over 100 years old. This is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Fermented in concrete tanks, then aged in a combination of new oak and French oak, this Bordeaux has a beautiful silky texture with aromas of cooked fruits and sweet-smelling tobacco leaves.
